General distribution. Bulgaria and Romania.

Distribution and abundance in Bulgaria. A local endemic found in the Akbunar karstic spring near Balchik in great numbers [1, 2, 3].

Habitats. Freshwater springs (a crenobiont).

Biology. No data.

Similar species. Pseudamnicola consociella.

Negative factors. Loss and degradation of habitats caused by man; extraction and pollution of the waters.

Conservation measures taken. None.

Conservation measures needed. Maintenance and preservation of the habitat and specification of a protected territory around the spring inhabited by the species. Studies on the biology and ecology for specifying nature-protection measures; monitoring.
