Conservation status. Endangered [EN B2ab(ii,iv)].

Morphology and biology. Fruit-bodies (apothecia) single, sessile on a broad base, discoid; disc 0.2–0.5 cm in diameter, flat or lenticular, dark brown; flesh translucent, gelatinous, formed of slender, undulating, loosely woven hyphae. Spores broadly ellipsoid, 17.5–22.5(24) × 11–15 µm, unicellular with two big oil drops and smooth or slightly punctuate coat, hyaline. IV–XI.

Habitats and populations. On dead wood and fallen twigs mainly of alders (Alnus).

Distribution in Bulgaria. West Frontier Mts (Hisarlaka locality above the town of Kyustendil).

General distribution. Europe.

Threats. Habitat changes as result of drought, tourism development, wood extraction, wood plantation, atmospheric pollution.

Conservation measures taken. Included in the Red List of Fungi in Bulgaria.

Conservation measures needed. Research into the species biology and ecology; inclusion in the National biodiversity monitoring system; preservation of the locality of the species.
