Conservation status. Endangered [EN B2ab(ii,iv)].

Morphology and biology. Fruit-bodies (apothecia) at first sunk in the substrata tissue, later arising on the surface, sessile, scattered, cup-shape, up to 0.3–0.6 cm in diameter with white hymenium, outside black. Spores ellipsoid, 17.5–22.5 × (4.5)5 µm, unicellular, straight or slightly curved with 3–5 oil drops, hyaline. V–X.

Habitats and populations. On dry herbaceous stems.

Distribution in Bulgaria. Rhodopi Mts (Western – Beglika Strict Nature Reserve).

General distribution. Europe.

Threats. Habitat changes as result of agricultural activities, livestock breeding, drought; restricted distribution of the species.

Conservation measures taken. Included in the Red List of Fungi in Bulgaria. The locality is situated within the territory of Beglika Strict Nature Reserve and in a site of the European ecological network Natura 2000 in Bulgaria.

Conservation measures needed. Research into the species biology and ecology; inclusion in the National biodiversity monitoring system; preservation the locality of the species.
