Threats. Very limited propagation and dispersal potential, as in Europe the species does not produce spores; infrastructure development and air pollution.
Conservation measures taken. Species locality is in Pobiti Kamani Protected Site and in a site of the European ecological network Natura 2000 in Bulgaria. The species is included in the National System for Monitoring of Biodiversity.
Conservation measures needed. Long-term study, assessment of trends in habitat changes, and prognosis for population development; legal protection of the species by the national Biological Diversity Act.
