Conservation status. Endangered [EN B2ab(i,ii,iv)].

Morphology and biology. Fruit-bodies annual, resupinate, up to 5 mm thick, weakly attached to substrate, white; margin wide. Pore surface white to light cream; pores round to angular. Tube layer 1–3 mm thick. Hyphal system dimitic. Spores ellipsoid, 5–7 × 2.5–3.5 µm, colourless, smooth, thin-walled. X.

Habitats and populations. In conifer forests.

Distribution in Bulgaria. Rhodopi Mts (Central).

General distribution. Europe, Asia, North America, Australia.

Threats. Habitat loss/degradation caused by agriculture (wood plantations), extraction (selective logging), and infrastructure development (tourism/recreation).

Conservation measures taken. Included in the Red List of Fungi in Bulgaria.

Conservation measures needed. Study of the population numbers and range; interpretation of species status through better understanding of the species biology and ecology; conservation of the habitat; study of the trends through monitoring.
